Payments and payouts
Players pay through Stripe, one of the world’s largest payment providers. At every purchase the money is split at once: 20 % for SMPHUB, 80 % for you. Once a month Stripe pays your share to your bank account.
How players pay
“Continue to payment” takes the player to Stripe’s payment page. Stripe shows the payment methods available for the buyer, for example cards.
Card details go to Stripe only; SMPHUB never sees them. The order counts as paid only when Stripe confirms the payment.
The split
Of every purchase SMPHUB keeps 20 % and 80 % are yours. Stripe’s payment fees come out of SMPHUB’s 20 %, so your share is not reduced by them.
Example: a player pays €10.00. €2.00 go to SMPHUB and €8.00 to you. SMPHUB currently charges no VAT (small business, section 19 UStG).
There is no setup fee and no monthly fee.
Your payout account
In your store panel under Payouts you set up your payout account on Stripe’s own page (Stripe Connect). Stripe asks for the details the law requires, such as your name, address, date of birth and bank account, and checks your identity if needed.
The application on SMPHUB never asks for account numbers or ID documents. If you are 16 or 17, your parent or guardian takes part in the setup.
As long as Stripe has not checked your account, nothing can be bought in your store.
Payouts
Your share goes to your Stripe account with every purchase. Stripe pays out the balance to your bank account once a month.
Your panel shows month by month what players paid, SMPHUB’s share and what is yours.
Refunds and chargebacks
Refunds are made by the SMPHUB team. If a purchase is refunded or a buyer charges a payment back with their bank, Stripe takes your part of it back from your payout account; already paid out amounts are set off against later ones. Your panel always shows which amounts are yours.
Test mode
Until SMPHUB goes live with Stripe, the store runs with a test key. Orders in test mode are always marked as tests and no real money moves.
